We drank so much prosecco on our first trip to Italy. Everyone talked about how much gelato they ate the first time they went to Italy, but we were sitting there poppin bottles on the balcony every night.
Negotiations to end Apartheid took 6 years (1987 to 1993)! The US started placing sanctions in 1986, and the transition away from Apartheid didn’t start until 1990. Apartheid wasn’t fully ended until 1994.
They said it was hard to cut ties with them, and they were right. Global politics is harder than, “just do it.” Biden didn’t solve the genocide in a year, but he was working with a more difficult situation than just cutting off money/weapons. If he does that, then every country around Israel starts taking advantage of it and he has a much bigger situation to deal with. I don’t agree with how little Biden did to stop the genocide. I don’t agree with Harris not being vocal about putting even more pressure on Israel. But there is more at play than just “don’t send weapons.”
Yes, but it’s expensive.
Real question: after WoW had been around for a year or so, were you still unhappy about it? I never played any of the Warcraft games before WoW and had never played any MMOs before Wow, so I had no feeling either way about the announcement. I started playing WoW because two of my close friends and two of my coworkers were playing a bunch, so it was a good way to have more gaming friends than just my one gaming friend. Were most WC3 players unhappy about the announcement? It’s clear that millions of people ended up being pretty happy about it in the end.
Why do people seem to think I’m saying that Meta was blocking conservatives?
Because your literal words were “the same article but about how meta was blocking conservatives.” Please tell the class how saying “meta was blocking conservatives” does NOT mean “Meta was blocking conservatives.”
That was not about government censorship. That was about the government being able to discuss with corporations what harmful things should be self-filtered by the corporations.
Also, since those things the government in that lawsuit wanted filtered were false and harmful misinformation related to election security and COVID, it seems conservatives equate harmful and fake shit as “conservative.”
Or, and hear me out, it’s because people don’t have as much free money these days and Champagne is getting more expensive? Just throwing that out there.
Also, it could be related to the overall drop in wine sales, which is also correlated with an overall drop in alcohol sales. Younger people both drink less wine as a percentage of their drinking and drink less alcohol altogether.
"and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth,”
Ummm, I’m pretty sure most manufacturers care way more about wages than taxes. Taxes are important in white collar businesses or between areas with similar wages. But the wages of a US factory worker are much higher than a worker in China. They are likely higher than in EU, too, though maybe not by as much.
Is the plan to bring low-wage jobs to the US? Or is the plan to pay higher wages for the same job and pass the cost to the consumer? Or is the plan to add tariffs that get passed on to the consumer? Because I’m not really seeing how this helps anyone.
