Forced myself to build a new rig last summer largely because I had a feeling Trump would win and everything would get more expensive. I probably should have bought a new used car as well. Any big purchases should have been done before Jan 20.
I like Youtube (with adblocker) but shorts are pretty trashy. It’s mostly shorts of women as naked as they can get on Youtube without breaking the rules who have purposefully given themselves super camel toes and set the thumbnail for the short to show their camel toe to get people’s attention. And it’s just a front to get you to their OnlyFans.
But Americans have proven to be willing to just take it in the ass rougher and longer than I’d ever imagine.
For a nation known for being tough guys with guns who will fuck their government, or any government that messes with them, up if necessary, all I’ve actually seen all my life is a bunch of pussies that let the wealthy walk all over us. And I’m not exactly a spring chicken.
Just wait it out for a few more years and things will settle down.
That’s not at all how this works.
This isn’t anything new
It is. Yeah, we’ve had a civil war. We have not had creeping fascism, new rules that allow a president to be entirely lawless, a corrupt supreme court, a woefully misinformed populace, Nazis in the White House, and oligarchs buying legislation and creating insane wealth disparity all happening at the same time.
This isn’t a realigning of the parties. It’s fascism taking hold.
Well. You can. But we already passed all the opportunities to do so. Gotta nip it in the bud and we chose not to do so.
At this point? Probably not. Not if history is any indication. We’ve blown right past all the checkpoints that would have prevented this snowball effect. Our legislative processes are almost too irreparably damaged for a healthy democracy to exist. We’ve removed too many regulations regarding money in our politics and not placed enough regulations on the focus of power on individuals and entities within our government.
We’re probably going to go through a really dark period where the quality of life is going to decline, rights will be stripped, and a lot of vulnerable people are going to die and then, hopefully, things will get bad enough that a revolution happens. It won’t be like WW2 where more powerful forces come to our rescue. We’ll have to do it ourselves. And I don’t really have that much faith in our populace doing that. Again, it will take a really significant decline in quality of life for damn near everyone before that’s even possible. It looks like that’s where we’re headed though.

Our educational system is failing and many humans simply cannot handle the internet responsibly.
The problem is meathead Joe Rogan lets his guests tell cool stories about their experiences to gain an audience, then proceeds to express the stupidest fucking thoughts imaginable to all those people from the gaping anus that serves as his mouth.

Unfortunately, we live in an age where meatheads are idolized by millions of people. Because our educational systems have failed. Because many, if not most, humans were simply not ready for the internet.

They’re too busy arguing that Elon didn’t actually perform either Nazi salute he very clearly performed on video.

Cyberpunk future will look good compared to where we’re probably headed if history is any indication.

When the richest human in existence, who will have an official position in the White House for bankrolling the president, performs not one, but TWO Nazi salutes while standing behind the presidential seal during a presidential inauguration, I want EVERYONE, including my meteorologist to speak up on that political issue.
It takes a lot of courage to speak out against fascists in power. Not enough Germans did it and look what happened.
If you’re a good person, you probably don’t want to work for a corporation that enables fascists. Hope this person finds a better employer.
they need to seriously take a closer look at themselves.
Americans not being able to look at themselves critically is how we got here.
Apparently we Americans need a much harsher, more personal and painful lesson before we learn to treat everyone with respect and change our priorities.
It’s looking like we’re going to go through a dark period before this happens, if it ever happens.
