Give orphan black some time. I don’t remember how much happens in first episode but she (Tatiana Maslany) acting is so good in the show I also found it very unique and loved the show. There is also an audio book series that came out ofter the show that is good (voiced by same cast)

First season of Orphan Black was the best. It gets worse each session. I gave up halfway through the least session.
