Summary

Donald Trump has amended his lawsuit against CBS, doubling the damages sought to $20 billion.

He also added Texas Congressman Ronny Jackson, his former White House doctor, as a co-plaintiff to keep the suit before a Trump-appointed judge in Texas.

He claims CBS deceptively edited Kamala Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview to make her appear more coherent, allegedly influencing the 2024 election and harming his Truth Social platform.

Filed in Texas, the suit alleges violations of the Lanham Act and Texas consumer protection laws.

CBS argues that the Lanham Act and Texas statute only govern commercial speech, not political or editorial speech, and has moved to dismiss the lawsuit.

So, can she then sue him over the Joe Rogan interview?

The bills might just cancel each other out.

    Absolute gold right here:

her habit of uttering ‘word salads’ — i.e., jumbles of exceptionally incoherent speech…"

Is this projection or is he too dumb to understand what she says?

See what happens when you capitulate to a bully? He doesn’t stop bullying. He pushes more and bullies harder. The only way to stop a bully is to (metaphorically) punch him in his mouth.

All the merits of this aside, this is some hilarious banana republic nonsense right there. You absolutely should not be able to file in bumfuck, Texas any time you need a lunatic judge to make an insane ruling, and any judge appointed by the fucking plaintiff should recuse themselves and be disbarred if they don’t.

    Joke of a judicial system.

And it’s been a joke the whole time. The only difference now is no one’s been this blatant with their abuse of the judicial system

The fascists have gotten so much mileage out of exploiting problems in our government that everyone has known about for decades but that nobody ever bothered to fix.

I saw this amazing video from some conservative talk person breaking down all the Terrible Things in this CBS raw footage. It was so hilariously nothing. Like the entirety of it was look she pauses here so that they can edit in the picture of the interviewer asking the question. That was the whole thing. Like just normal editing techniques. I wasn’t expecting much, but good God something at least.

    You know…

It’s weird how mind-blowingly silent moderates are about Kamala.

I haven’t seen a single mocking comment about if she thinks supporting a genocide is still more important than winning the election.

    Or being against healthcare reform…

    Or being pro-border wall

    Or against taxing the wealthy

    Or being pro-fracking

Or any of the other ways she pissed off pieces of the Dem party because she wanted donations more than she wanted votes.

She is currently irrelevant. Her only function is to be studied as an example of failure. I really don’t care how she feels and will probably never care what she thinks ever again.

The damage is done, she has nothing left to offer me.

        My point is:

No one asks if Kamala regrets all her rightwing moves that allowed trump to beat her.

Maybe because this is one of the few times it’s personally bad for her?

Because no one is asking her anything. No one wants her to run again, no one is rallying behind her

She ran as basically “generic Democrat”. She doesn’t have the ideology of Bernie, she doesn’t have the relevance of Obama or Biden, and by the end of the campaign she toned down the cutting responses that made Trump look weak and stupid - that could have at least made her part of the conversation

She’s not being let off the hook, she’s been cut out of the picture

If I challenged you to send one email or make one phone call to an entertainer, politician, business leader or anyone else that can get the ear of the press to say to them that they need to use that power to speak out against Israeli genocide every time you felt the need to bring up Kamala Harris, would you do it?

I mean she got completely crushed and her political career is basically over. She was never very popular and she bungled the election in a most moronic fashion. Not much point in kicking her anymore is there?

Her and the DNC bungling the election is the reason why Trump is currently in office. These people are supposed to be the opposition party, remember?

What’s there to address? I’m agreeing with your assessment of her and just disagreeing with the part about “not kicking her when she’s down” since she and the DNC leaders were what stood between us and Trump.

You know… It’s weird how giddy the ‘progressives’ are over the dismantling of cultural norms and suppression of marginal groups who at the very least would have maintained at least a status-quo quality of life rather than being used as a token to pin every social I’ll on in a similar fashion to 1940s Germany…

    You fucking idiots.

The instant you bought into it, you signed up for this. He’s going to keep fucking with you. The day after you pay, he’s going to be fucking with you again. The FCC’s going to pull your license. He’s going to sue you again for something you allegedly did in 2014. It’ll never stop, until you actually stand up for yourself.

And now you’re out $15 million, for nothing. You got nothing at all for it.
