From “I’m sure he’s learned his lesson” to this. Republican Senators really give off that “I actually don’t give a shit, I’m here for the paycheck” vibe.

      Graham in particular.

As far as I can see, he has no principles or ideas of his own. When they need a sound bite, whoever owns him (or maybe just whoever’s renting him this week) swaps his gimp suit for a three piece suit and takes the ball-gag out of his mouth, then trundles him out in front of the cameras to deliver a canned statement.

Another instance of Trump doing what he made it very clear he was going to do, and people act surprised. No shit Graham, Trump was a mistake and you supported him as hard as possible.

Oh no! Not the esteemed sensibilities of Lindsey Graham!!!

Whatever the fuck shall we do? Now that this shriveled old sack of musty shit has had his enabling sensitivities attacked.

I would be worried to be literally any Congress member right now. Not only are some of them actively breeding extremists, that they barely have a leash on. But once Trump eventually kicks the bucket, all of that rage will be unleashed upon them for everything shitty that’s happened since Trump took office.

Republican politicians are tying their own noose right now, and they don’t realize the threat will come from in their own house.

    For humor:

Graham’s opposition to Trump [in 2016] was evident in his statements; he referred to Trump as a “race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot” and expressed concerns about Trump’s impact on the Republican Party. He also stated, “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed… and we will deserve it.”

Without action, any republicans ‘tut tut’-ing trump is just blowing smoke. I care as much about this as Collins or Murkowski aggressively furrowing their brows at trump for 4 straight years.

Fun, lighthearted, fact: the term blowing smoke originates from an old drowning resuscitation practice, in which blowing smoke up the butt of a drowning person was supposed to bring them around.

Obviously it didn’t work, but people still did it for a long time in spite of that, and thus “blowing smoke up my ass” as a phrase to mean being intentionally dishonest.

A little context; This began as American First Nations medical tech. Tobacco smoke enemas were used to treat a variety of conditions, including constipation, bowel obstruction, and colic. They eventually abandoned this because of the toxicity of nicotine. The drowning bit was a last resort treatment. We don’t have any info on it ever working. As far as old medicine goes this isn’t the biggest offender.
