I also advocate for the initial array index to be .5 to be equally annoying to programmers and mathematicians alike.
Monster!

I’m still mad I paid full price for my wapo sub last year before they went bugfuck. I haven’t opened the app or read one of their articles in 6mo, so the fuckers got basically free money from me. BUT NEVER AGAIN!
Cooking in electric is fine, just different. I had an exposed coil stove for a while which was passable, but my glass top coil range is rather good. I grew up on gas and honestly my only complaint about electric is a bit slower heating time and it doesn’t react as fast as I’d like, but it’s not nearly as bad as people like to claim.
The bigger headline is “Skype hasn’t been dead this whole time”
Wtf do people think doing nothing is going to accomplish?
Maybe just maybe, people are ok with gore/porn when they’re expecting it, but don’t like seeing it when they’re not?
I don’t use meta garbage and have been on the Internet long enough that I regularly saw gore videos as a teen because I hung out on 4chins all the time. I’m not averse to gore, but I still don’t want to randomly see that shit in my feeds.
Also, well adjusted people generally don’t feel good when they randomly see gore and shit…
They’re saying that a defendant can be convicted with minimal or circumstantial evidence. Because, much like they can decide the law shouldn’t apply when they think the defendant did it, they can decide the defendant is guilty even if the evidence doesn’t say that.
My point was more that we’d probably have to increase the mass to be able to make it a black hole, as we don’t have the ability to compress it to a singularity.
Yes, but you’d more than likely have to increase the mass of Jupiter to make it a black hole.
You’re talking at scales where the incoming mass has a lot of velocity already. In a stationary frame of reference, the matter would more than likely fall directly in since there isn’t an appreciable amount of rotational momentum involved like there is at stellar sizes.
I’m pretty sure if we made Jupiter a black hole we’d throw off our orbit and have much bigger problems.
I’ve been considering putting graphene on my pixel for a month or so now, I’m just in tech and have a shit load of MFA entries in multiple apps that don’t sync anywhere, and I don’t have the energy to redo all that shit at work when I barely have enough time to do my normal shit…
I used to live rooting and throwing custom rooms on my phone, but I’ve been out of that for a decade and don’t have a usable spare device to test/use as a backup.
Time to start putting up those trump ‘i did this’ stickers in supermarkets untill they ban me again.
They should be paying for the unsafe workplace even if no one is injured, and even more if someone is injured.
You just described the purpose of both OSHA and workman’s comp.
Workers comp insurance fights about as hard as other insurance companies to fuck you over. My girlfriend ended up rather disabled after an incident at her job and their workman’s comp fight like hell to blame a previously unknown health condition, and the LTD people managed to get out of paying once STD ran out and she didn’t have the money to fight it.
Insurance is insurance, and fuck them all.
You’ve side stepped the point I was making yet again to argue something else, but I’ll indulge in this one last time.
Ageism already exists in the system and we don’t have an issue with it. It’s just okay to be ageist against young people.
I personally don’t agree with this at all.
Your disagreement doesn’t change laws on the books.
My idea is when one generation gets older that they kind of become the assistants of the next generation coming up behind them, and then we just repeat that cycle every generation.
That can never happen when the previous generation is unwilling to let go of the reigns and are determined to die in office of at all possible.
Ageism at any age is wrong, but I’ve seen it practiced a lot more against older people that I have against younger people (especially online), hence my initial comment.
Ok, well I’m talking about what happens in the real world, not people screaming into the void online. Whether or not you hear more about it towards the older gen online, the real world is ageist against younger generations all the time.
I don’t give a wet shit about online people arguing when there’s objective reality to look at for real examples. Good day.
Ageism already exists in the system and we don’t have an issue with it. It’s just okay to be ageist against young people.
We say younger people are not mature enough for certain tasks, but I know plenty of kids who are younger than the required age but able to understand and perform the same tasks. Does that mean we should let 12 year olds have drivers licenses? Are we just going to ignore these kids because they haven’t met a specific age criteria? Or are we going to say that as a rule, they don’t have the mental capacity to have that privilege/responsibility.
We already have rails in place for older people to have their driving privileges taken away, at the very minimum there should be one for government work. You keep saying this is ‘throwing away’ older people, when in reality, this is removing people before they do not have the capacity to do it themselves. No one is saying they can’t advise, but they absolutely should not be steering the future of this country. Because that’s how we get to where we are now.
Another thing that helps is to answer and immediately mute your line so the caller only hears an empty line. Spam dialers hang up and eventually mark the number as invalid, and most people who are real callers will prompt with a hello or something. I did that for a while before I got the Google call screen, which cut it down even more.
I’ll put a wind chime on my car so I always know what direction the wind is blowing. No hurricane is going to sneak up on me!
