Being in poor mental health isn’t an excuse for ghosting. Ghosting suggests he doesn’t value your wellbeing over his own: it’s a pretty cruel thing to do to someone, and deeply selfish. You’re still young. In your shoes, I think I’d explore other relationships before diving back into one with several red flags.

I kind of a little bit believe that dreams have some weird predictive ability. The scientist in me knows it’s likely a mix of confirmation bias and information synthesis, but like… my family has a pretty strong history of dreaming about deaths and births a week or two prior to pregnancy announcements and right before/after deaths. My mom has had several dreams where a loved one has come and chatted with her in a dream and said goodbye, then later that day we learn they passed, for example. It’s happened enough that I have a lot of trouble brushing it off. I’ve had a similar dream myself and it felt quite different from a normal sleep dream. That one was less paranormalish though, it was a friend who died a few years ago and showed up to give me some life advice. Just… hit me in a specific, indescribable way (it was good advice too).

there’s nothing at all wrong with a small instance, although afaik if your instance goes offline your account is lost. I haven’t been active much between the api thing and recently, so it’s possible they implemented the much asked-for account migration feature in the intervening years.

what is it that you want explained?

• Lemmy runs on a bunch of separate servers (instances) that share information with each other. 50501.chat is such an instance.
• Any community - basically a subreddit - is hosted on one such instance
• Your server, lemmy.zip, can pull information from that instance when you go to their community. On your end, unless their instance is banned by your instance, all this means is that their community has a longer name. Instead of /r/50501 or /c/50501 or whatever, it’s [email protected] so that your instance can tell where to take you when you want to go there.

I got suspended because I was banned from a sub years ago on a different account, and I can’t block that subreddit. Accidentally commented on r/all, instantly suspended for ‘ban evasion’. I didn’t make a secret of the alt account, I made it to avoid doxxing. I didn’t want to comment on the subreddit, I’d block it from my feed if I could. Reddit knew I was banned and could have just kept me from posting there in the first place. Instead, suspension for evasion. Their whole setup is truly bizarre.

The American populace is comprised of a lot of very stupid, cowardly people. It’s been molded by decades of propaganda to make them into this. I am not surprised and I do not expect Americans to be able to get themselves out of this descent spiral.
