People don’t seem to get that the money distributed this way comes from their own pockets. Only thing that counts for them is that they receive hard, cold cash from the government. It’s ridiculous, but real, and the new government does not dare to touch this program for fear of backlash. People love it no matter what.
It’s name was initially “500+”, later changed to “800+” if you are interested in looking it up. It is tied to amount of children you have.
