Oh I was just making a light-hearted joke about the demographic here, it’s definitely still good info to include.

Who here doesn’t have at least one unused domain?
A lot of people are interested in it. There’s still a lot of research to be done but the existence of the phenomenon itself is pretty well established
Oh buddy, me neither
However, it’s important to note that this field of research is still in its infancy. Seeing epigenetic changes in sperm does not necessarily mean these changes are passed on to children. In fact, researchers are working very hard to answer that question, Tuulari said.
It has not been confirmed that epigenetic changes can be passed from a human parent to their children, he said. “It has been shown, however, in experimental animal models, including worms and mice.”
Therefore, it is too soon to draw any conclusions about the influence of paternal stress on a child’s health, Tuulari said. It is also not clear whether the epigenetic changes observed would ultimately have a positive, negative or neutral effect, he added.
Very interesting stuff. I’ll have to look out for future studies.
Yeah, I thought about it more after commenting. I can’t know for certain what I would do given a bad timeline. Maybe I’d just go offline, spread fliers, something.
Tildes is invite only similar to lobste.rs
I think it doesn’t need to rapidly grow. The trickle of new users we get each time the main players fuck up is good enough for me.
if posting on lemmy makes you an enemy of the state and the state is becoming increasingly harsh with its punishments… would you still be going on and posting regularly? i would certainly think twice.
Where else would we go? Perhaps it’s my non-American privilege but I think in a time like that I couldn’t be silent.
Welcome! Any questions so far?
Changing domains is essentially like starting a whole new instance. It can be done but communities and accounts start from scratch.
Well, we need to remember that the longer ago someone registered the more likely they are to hold some strong views. For many of us it was just a strong feeling that corporate ownership is awful, but not for everyone.
This is why some of us are so focused on spreading the load.
They’re called communities, but they’re still your subscriptions, so in this context it works.
Great! It was unmoderated for a while but I recently took it over and I’m hoping to breathe some life into it.

I wanted a short username since I’m not usually able to get one and the idea of it being something common and impossible to search was fun.
General interest in fediverse includes Lemmy.
It’s meta and x that are causing interest in the fediverse again. Pixelfed has gained a lot of users.
Domains are pretty inexpensive. I’ve used Namecheap but shop around.
