Lemmy is notorious for asking and including sources. It’s part of the culture. I wouldn’t say you’re supposed to swallow anything, but quite the contrary–make your stance.
I feel like she wasn’t told to use the block feature freely and deliberately. The block feature is your friend.
Many people block all political communities and keywords. It’s definitely viable.
Your last point is what really resonates with me. I’ll take Marxist-Lenninists all day over stupid right wingers who created this whole fucking mess. At the very least, the former read books. The latter only know how to kiss ass.
I get it, why give him any attention. But this is not about him–it’s about the protest this time. That’s fine by me, let’s get people going!
Good idea. We should do this here.
The nuke is a bad example of the sheer power of the modern American military. It’s also a bit outdated. That legal mechanism was drafted when many other modern weapons and tactics were not even dreamed of. Just a couple days ago the US military announced its strongest armor yet.
But I agree: your assault rifle may save you from others with an assault rifle, but it won’t do shit if the military comes for you.
Seven Kingdoms II: The Fryhtan Wars
I found the disk at a Dollar Tree Store when I was a teen. I spent hours in endless matches trying to build my empire. I remember the spy system in this RTS was incredibly fun and nothing I’ve seen in any other game. Truly a gem with so much potential to become a cult classic with its charming art style.
I don’t see any Janes claiming xantophobia. What’s the percentage of xantophobes in the world, even? Do you see any large images of solid yellow around? Because you have one ophidiophobe here already speaking up with a phobia sitting at 10% prevalence. Actually, I know a handful of ophidiophobes and you might too. How many secret xantophobes do you think you know? It’s probably zero. How about arachnophobes? At least one, I bet, and they probably fly out of the room at the sight of one.
So I ask again, why does it have to be all or nothing? Ask anyone what the three top animal phobias are and I guarantee snakes is one of them every single time. If someone asks nicely, it takes three actions to fix an image that spans the entire screen. I really hope I’m being clear that the problem is the large images.
You say you don’t mean to demean but you’re not making a good case for it by jumping to extremes and diluting what I’m saying.
Why is it all-or-nothing? If it was a partial image I’d understand but the image blatantly spans the entire screen on both mobile and web. this is far from every other common phobia depicted as an image and quite a common one at that.
Please, please use a spoiler tag or cw for close-up pictures of snakes. A lot of people suffer from ophidiophobia and this is a big jump scare. Thank you for understanding!
E: That includes me. I had to cover up the post to reply–it’s that bad. I’m neither mentally prepared or wealthy enough to go to therapy. Not sure why the downvotes for advocating for some sympathy.
Yeah, I don’t think he was too aware or didn’t want to be. The moment I saw his picture I did the whole “no fucking way this is you” face. I think he really needed to talk about it, which I understand, but it wasn’t the place or the time. He caught me completely offguard.
I was in a locker room three months ago minding my own business when this oddly looking guy next to me struck up a conversation. He looked old and incredibly skinny, but you could tell his face was younger. Maybe it’s a skin condition like Ehlers-Danlos, I thought.
Well, the guy was in his early thirties and said the reason for his condition was that he had been recently freed by a cartel. He had been kidnapped for years, kept without food or proper hygiene, basically working as a slave. And then he showed me a picture of himself from three years ago on his phone. He has the incredible phisique of a Greek god, beautiful face, with a six pack and well developed muscles. And there he was, skinny, thin as a pencil and with loose, aged skin.
He recounted how he had used his smarts to survive. He had been forced to kidnap others, forged friendships with his captors and even made important suggestions to the leaders to create alliances with other cartels. He was damn good at the job making people fall into the trap, schmoosing the right people and getting out of situations. He said he was honestly one of the best they had, according to him.
He went on about how he had been tortured, kept in a cellar, worked tirelessly from dawn til dusk, and then released one day. And then he told me he he still had friends in the cartel to this day.
That’s when I found a break 20 minutes in of this guy trauma dumping on me and I noped the fuck out of there with some bullshit excuse. Never in my life have I ever been so scared, sad, sorry and flabbergasted of someone recounting their life story.
Which “rogue states” do you mean?
E: Fucking Lemmy, I swear to god you have to take everything in a bad way when people are just being curious and want clarity. I don’t know what a fucking “rogue state” is, I’m not from whatever country you are from and English is not my native language.
Isn’t this an act of war?
