I wonder why it always seems to be men that are so helpless at forming their own opinions on things that they fall in line for social media grifters (while probably calling themselves ‘alphas’). I mean, 11% of women isn’t a small amount either but 26% of men is more than double that and just over a quarter of the total amount.
Not even trying to be funny here but it’s looking more and more like the stereotypes of women being emotional and irrational and men being all level headed and wise and shit are completely fucking backwards. It seems to men that need to be babied and pampered and taken care of and told what special little boys they are every 5 minutes or else they’ll punch a wall and vote for nazis. While women in general are doing a hell of a lot better at keeping their heads in the face of endless social media propaganda.

Women are antivaxx at much higher rates. Women are much more likely to accept “alternative/fake medicine” than men. Women are more likely to ascribe to beliefs in astrology than men. Would any of this mean that women are less capable of rational thought or might there be something else going on for why these appeal more to women than men? Were I to take sexist logic to heart the conclusion would be that women are dumber than men yet that’s simply not true. This there is likely a different reason why these forms of bullshit appeal to women. I would suggest that it is because these forms of woo are targeted at women much like fascism inherently targets men as their audience.
Fascism relies on traditional gender roles and that has less appeal to women who would lose rights and power compared to men who would theoretically gain power. It’s less “there’s something wrong with the men” and more that fascism itself is designed to appeal to men.
It helps nothing and no one to engage in misogyny or misandry.
It also helps nothing and no one to “both sides” this conversation every time it starts. Astrology and homeopathy doesn’t even begin to fucking compare with nazism. Also, why do you call out astrology but not christianity? One is a dumb little thing involving sky magic that is mostly harmless and the other is also a dumb thing involving sky magic but the followers of that dumb thing are actually very dangerous and harmful to a lot of people that have to grow up with them. Haven’t met too many female priests in my life either.

Edit: in fact this whole fucking conversation is stupid considering that the stats are there at the top of the post for all to see. There is clearly a fucking problem. And the way to fix that problem is to actually address it instead of comparing it to astrology and calling it a day.

Explain to me why insulting people who believe in Christianity is bad but insulting people who believe in astrology is ok. I’m interested to hear why you think Christians deserve more respect for their dogmatic beliefs than other people who believe silly things but mostly keep it to themselves and don’t harm anyone else.
Also, fuck off, I am in fact going to think there is something wrong with men if nazism is an attractive ‘product’ for them to ‘buy’ and they have zero regard for any human rights but their own. I am going to think there’s something wrong with anyone that buys into nazism but the very clear fact is that men are buying into it more.
I just want to also add, I am AMAB. I’ve lived the majority of my life as a man amongst other men. I’ve even had to fucking live with other men in boarding school. So I’ve also got my own lived experience of toxic masculinity.
The whole fact that nazism is such a good and guilt free product for a lot of men, is because of that fucking toxic masculinity. Because it appeals to people who have been raised to believe that aggression and power plays are more important than empathy and cooperation. Which brings me back to my first post which was removed. Clearly society is doing something wrong with how we’re raising men.
