“A day without immigrants” is nonsensical. Immigrants aren’t going anywhere. Illegal immigrants are.
If I snuck into Canada and they eventually caught me guess what they would do? They would send my ass back to the US because I would be a criminal in Canada for skipping the proper immigration process. Why is this situation being treated differently?
And again I must ask how this protest helps anything. They are only removing the illegal immigrants. We already know how fantastic immigrants are for our country. It’s the great melting pot of culture because of our immigrants. They aren’t going after people who legally migrated here.
And to whatever mod keeps deleting my comments (and hiding behind automod to do so) for “racism” please point to any of my comments where I was racist in any way. I am clearly talking about this topic in a way you very much do not like, but I have not been racist once during this conversation.
I haven’t taken a side or even mentioned race at all. I am merely talking about the situation from a legal standpoint.
If simply talking about a country enforcing it’s immigration laws is racist then I don’t know how any conversation can even take place on the subject in any country where immigration is happening.
I am more than happy to have the very different conversation about what our immigration laws currently are and what some might wish they should be, but that is not the conversation we are currently having.
Huh, the article doesn’t specify which ones they are protesting for. You seem to have added the illegal part. Pretty sus.
Cue defensive statement
Why would they be protesting for legal migrants that aren’t going anywhere?
It’s clearly in response to the removal of the illegal immigrants. Not the legal ones.
Go read the fucking article. Or do you see the word immigrant and just assume they are illegal?
I read the fucking article.
