Summary

Federal workers who voted for Trump in 2024 are facing unexpected job losses as the administration implements massive workforce cuts.

Michael Graugnard, an attorney advisor at USDA, was laid off three months into his role despite managerial assurances. While he supports “government efficiency,” he didn’t anticipate this implementation but doesn’t regret his vote.

Similarly, IRS veteran James Diaz criticizes the administration’s “chainsaw” approach to cuts. However, others like Ryleigh Cooper, who voted for Trump’s IVF promises, now regret their decision after losing her Forest Service job.

The layoffs are part of Trump and Musk’s plan that has terminated thousands of federal workers and convinced 77,000 others to resign.

    You reap what you sow.

I’m sad for all the workers who didn’t vote for Trump and have to deal with this shit, but I’m not sad for the ones who voted for him. They got what they asked for; they were just too dumb to realize they’d be impacted too

    “IVF promises”

Whoever thought he was going to give people free IVF have got to be the most gullable of the bunch…

There is no way, and that should have been obvious.

In my country just a rumor of a potential factory shutdown that cause the loss of 200 jobs will create huge strikes and riots in multiple cities.

In the USA, unjustified firings for thousands and thousands of persons and all you get are news pieces like this, “[the person that just lost his job still] supports government efficiency, […] but doesn’t regret his vote”

Yeah because we’re largely stupid, not passionate about anything other than hate, or busy dicking around on TikTok. I hate it here and hope to move abroad somewhere, someday.

This is the worrying part. It’s all but a “stop hitting yourself” kind of situation and I really hoped there could be some learning.

What’s the line of reason? They voted according to their core values and since they have to pay for the implementation, they should change their values or should have voted solely by self interest?

Is the position of ‘the left’ that it is right to vote in self interest and not for the common good?

“Unexpected job losses” lmao maybe these people, specifically, were incompetent. They couldn’t even bother to read the fucking platform of the person they voted for!

Fuck your own life over I don’t care but to be so selfish and incapable of critical thought to the point of harming millions of people to sooth your ignorance is straight up evil.

You know how history is gonna remember these people? The same way everyone thinks about the poor Germans who voted for Hitler because they were afraid of losing their small business in the depression: as fucking nazis.

The way Ryleigh presented her story made it sound like she was expecting the trump administration to impregnate her. Incredibly absurd…

At least there’s still an option for her: all she has to do is message Musk…
