Want to change your life? Like, transform it? Buy 30 pairs of exactly the same socks. Laundry is now easy. No need to match socks. They’re all the same. Hell, I didn’t think about it, but there’s no need to fold the socks anyway. Just shove the loose ones in a basket and grab 2 when you need them. Nobody looks at your feet and judges style of sock. And if they do, fuck em. Those kind of people aren’t worth it anyway.
I’ve bought the same pair of shoes for 15 years; Merrell Jungle MOC. When they are on sale I buy a couple. It’s made life easier for shoe shopping and go with pretty much any clothes. I but the same socks when I do but my nieces and children buy me socks all the time so I have bought my own pair in ages.
Similarly, the best of way to get clips for all kinds of bags is just to buy a 50 pack of clothes pins. Just keep them in a little box, and you’re set for $3
I do the same and store them in a drawer. After a while there’s stratification: The upper layers are worn out due to constant use while the lower layer consists of unworn socks.
It takes years until the bottom layer is reached. That’s the point when I buy the next generation. 30 pairs indeed is a good number for that.
Best gift I get (every year now) is a new set of Saxx underpants. They’re great.

Agreed. I’ve switched to merino wool underwear and have no regrets. It’s expensive but my junk is worth it.
Merino for socks. I don’t know if any ball-pouch pants makers do merino - if they do I know where to “request” my next set from…
REI merino underwear is great quality. I also have Woolly brand but it’s thinner than REI with a much lower thread count.
The issue with REI is stock. They simply haven’t had any in a while.
I can’t get REI in the UK (sadly), though it looks like Alpkit make some. They’re on sale, too, so might be worth a punt!
I picked up a pair of Andrew Fezza brand boxer pouch brief, once. They were absolutely amazing. The fabric was a smooth stretchy/silky feeling stuff, almost like a compression garment, but not tight. They lasted 20 years of washing before the elastic in the waist stated to give up. I haven’t seen them for sale since.
My sister and I have an agreement: instead of trying to come up with Christmas gifts, we simply exchange packs of Oreos.
My brother and I have a similar “gift truce”.
Mix things up this holiday season by layering Oreos, Cool Whip, and chocolate pudding in a serving dish. We call it Oreo Pie. It’s fantastic.
In the same vein: Homemade Oreo ice cream pie - crush 1/2 to 3/4 of a pack of Oreos, press it into a pie tin to make a crust, then fill it with ice cream (my preference is strawberry).
