Hi, first time PC builder here. I’ve done some research and know what parts I want, but pretty much every guide lists either online stores or US based brick and mortar shops. Seeing as its my first time I think a physical location I can go back to would be a good help. But I can’t really find much info on what retailers are reputable/operate as chain stores. Not gonna give away too much about my location but any located in the East Midlands of the UK would be great.
Not sure how far away you are from Tamworth but I picked up a case from UltraCore Distribution based there, no issues. They don’t seem to have a huge range of components but seem to have reasonable prices and good reviews
I have no local experience to your area.
Curry’s / PC-World appear to be one of the UK chains, and Maplins for some stuff. They might have some helpful or unhelpful advice but you can use them as a pricing baseline (cursory research tells me they are overpriced), so seems about equivalent to Best Buy and Staples here across the pond. Online retailers seem to be a popular way to go there.
There are little shops around that would be helpful and although selection might be limited, they are often priced reasonably and have knowledgeable people. One I found was “The One Stop Computer Shop” in Sherwood Nottingham… I liked this review from a confused customer:
Like they’re all overpriced? Thanks anyway. Will check em out.
