I was able to get through the rough years without feeling cheated thanks to the three year conversion trick making Gamepass cheap as hell for that period. Nowadays I just look out for good deals for codes online to keep it under the retail subscription cost. If I play enough of these games in a timeframe my subscription feels like a good value.
